Jade's Aunti Ali

Today is Jade's last day as a Duck at Little Village, my heart is so sad...and I know so is Aunti Ali's, but this isnt goodbye...

I remember looking for a new school for Jade, almost 2 years ago. I was in a state because I couldn’t find anything or place where I felt comfortable leaving Jade.

My friend Liesl referred me to Little Village and I phoned them,  but they couldn’t take Jade because she was only 2 and they take children from 3 onwards. I prayed long and hard that night and the next day I wrote an email to the wonderful Principle, Anne, telling her about the situation and that Jade is extremely clever and if they just give her a chance I am sure she will be fine. Anne phoned me back almost immediately, she said she has spoken to the Duck teacher, Ali, and Ali has agreed to take Jade. Myself and William went to the school, enrolled Jade and a week later she was in her Aunti Ali’s class and we have not looked back once. The school, all the teachers, the assistants, Auti Rose in the office, Aunti Ann...and off course Jade’s Aunti Ali they are all the most wonderful, heart warming people and in this school it’s always about the children.  Jade was the youngest child ever to be enrolled at Little Village :-)

Myself and William have lost many fights...where we were told “But Aunti Ali says...” The way Jade’s face lights up when she speaks about her Aunti Ali and how she loves her and the bond they share, there is nothing more comforting for a parent to leave your child in someone else’s care, when that person, loves them as family.

To all the Little Village staff, every single one of you, THANK YOU for all you do for our children and us as families, you are all incredible people and we pray that God bless the school and each of you abundantly. We love you and we are so greatful for all you do, this isn’t just a school...this is a family.

Then to Jade’s Auntie Ali: Our hearts are so sad today, Jade’s been with you for 2 years and I know you are her favourite in the whole world. You are the Queen and she is the Princess... Thank you for being the most wonderful teacher and thank you for loving Jade, for supporting her and for understanding her. Thank you for accepting her in your class a whole year earlier, thank you for taking her under your wing. Thank you for the countless messages of care and comfort. Thank you for being YOU. You truly are an Angel sent on our path, an answer to our prayers in a very difficult time. Jade could not have been in better hands. We all love you so much!!! We will miss you as Jade’s teacher, but we will forever be friends J We also looking forward to Logan being in your class soon J God bless you Ali now and always.
