First day at school....05.01.2010

Funny how wrong you can be about situations…

Jade is a really outgoing, happy child who loves people and children, so I figured, hey school is going to be an easy milestone for her.

HOW WRONG WAS I???

We dropped her off the first day, and put her on the carpet with the toys and 3 other children and she seemed fine (note seemed), we left, there were no tears, she didn’t even realize that we have left….and that was jus the whole thing, she never “REALIZED” we left. I went about my day with peace in my heart, thinking my baby was doing great. I picked her up and got the shock of my life. When I asked the teacher how she was, her words were like ice cold water being poured over me :”Not good” – I was like WHAT?? She was fine when I left her?

So the next day, needless to say was not any better! By the 3rd day I have already spoken to my mom and my dad and told them I am rather going to take her out of school and get a Nanny to look after her. Luckily I decided to just have a chat with the Principle before doing it. She then explained to me, that Jade is just so use to all the attention all the time that she is just struggling to adjust to suddenly sharing attention with 9 other babies – put in nice words she is spoiled…..! WHAT?? MY CHILD SPOILED? NEVER!! Okay maybe a little….okay okay maybe a little bit too much…but how can you not? She is so easy to spoil!  The principle said I must just give it sometime, she is just strong willed but in the end she will be one of the children who will love school, because she loves friends and people! 

Since then it has improved a little everyday, she has started to play and today she even had all her food and she slept nice, so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I still can’t help feeling like a monster though….

“I hope you know how much I love you Jadie Pie and I am always there with you, no matter what!”

Then time to brag, her teacher says she is so clever, she has never met a baby her age that can talk so well, she says about everything after you! :-) She is really really impressed and amazed with her! :-) WELL DONE JADIE, MAMMA IS JUST AS PROUD OF YOU!!!

Long awaited update!

I haven't had chance to update the blog for sometime, so I have quite a few messages!

Firstly, MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with friends and family! :-) (and lots of prezzies)

Also HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow can you believe 2010 has arrived, unreal! Think about years ago they made Sci-Fi movies of 2010 and now we here...lol lol
May this year be filled with nothing but love and happiness and peace all around! :-)

We had such a great holiday, went to Port Edward with Ouma Nettie, Brian, Ian and Lalie, Belinda and Dennis came through for a week, Charlotte and Gerhard and her boys, Devin and Ryan were there, was really just an amazing holiday! Once again just realized how lucky I am to have such great people as family.

Jade enjoyed the sea sooooooo much, she LOVED it! Just wanted to swim the whole time, she is a real waterbaby! :-)

Also, here is great news! SHE WALKED THE FIRST TIME ON THE 30th OF DECEMBER 2009!!! It was so amazing, I can not believe she is growing so fast! :-) I will really try and upload a video for you, too cute for words!

A time to be greatful....

This week has been a bit emotional for me. For a lot of reasons, but last night watching Christmas Wish list on M.net and this morning going on facebook and getting a message in my Inbox from little Dante Vorsters Grandmother, made me forget about all my silly little hang-ups and "issues".

Dante Vorster was born in January 2009 and he has a very rear disease called: Werdnig Hoffman Disease
At this moment he is an urgent need for a Bi-Pap machine that he needs to be able to breathe while he sleeps. The one he is currently using was borrowed to him and he has to give it back on the 5th of December 2009, without this machine Dante can not live. The machine's cost is R54 000.

They really don't have the money, the medical costs that they have had with little Dante is so much, and they really don't have R54 000!
Everyone on the Dante's group on facebook Klein Dantè se Lewensverhaal "Een dag op 'n slag" have sent e-mails to 94.7 Christmas Wish list, and we pray to our wonderful Lord to please help Dante and his family, by some miracle send them the finances or a person to help, for them to be able to get this machine for Dante! I trust with all my heart that our Jesus will help them, whether it is through 94.7 or through another way, but He will provide, because He is a Loving, Caring God who we can depend on. IN GOD WE WILL TRUST!

I also ask everyone reading this, to pray for Dante and his Mom and his Dad, his wonderful Granny that is doing everything in her power to save her "Prince" as she calls him.

For today I am greatful for all the above but I am especially greatful for a healthy Child, which is a gift every day!
